This is the famous story of Kisagatomi as retold by The Dalai Lama and Howard C. Cutler, M.D., in The Art of Happiness (N.Y.: Riverhead, 1998). After this experience, Kisagotami joined the Buddha’s Sangha [community of practitioners].

Losing someone you loved is a heartbreaking point of our lives. The story shows that there is no permanent in this world especially our lives. This story also teaches us the value of having our friends and/or families and even coach/es besides us, especially during this grieving period. They will help us to accept, learn to let go and recover from our dark times.
